In 2019, she appeared on the NDR program “Podium der Jungen,” and her performances were broadcast live on BBC Radio 3’s “BBC in Tune.”
Born into a family of musicians, Evgeniya began playing the piano at the age of four. She received her initial musical education at the municipal music school in Tuapse, Russia, and performed with various orchestras at a young age. She later studied at the “Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov” Conservatory in Saint Petersburg. Her subsequent master’s studies led her to Prof. Szokolay and Prof. Gruzman in piano performance and Prof. Kondratjewa and Prof. W.E. Schmidt in chamber music.
During her studies, Evgeniya Kleyn won multiple international awards and performed at prestigious festivals, including “Young Classics from Weimar,” “Paths to Liszt,” as well as at the Beethoven House in Bonn and the Brucknerhaus in Linz. She also initiated several chamber music projects, such as “The Known and Unknown Camille Saint-Saëns,” a “DSCH Marathon” honoring Dmitri Shostakovich, and concerts dedicated to Eduard Lassen and Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
Evgeniya was a Charlotte Krupp Scholar of the New Liszt Foundation in Weimar. She deepened her chamber music studies at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media under Prof. Markus Becker and received a scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes).
In 2019, she founded the TONALi Young Academy in Hamburg. Currently, she is actively involved in social and educational projects. In 2022, she co-founded “U All Together,” a project offering free art lessons to refugee children fleeing war.
In 2023, she launched the annual art festival “Kinder Kunst Campus,” which provides a platform for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to showcase their talents and participate in free workshops. She collaborates closely with social organizations like the Red Cross to help marginalized communities through artistic initiatives.
